They came out on top against Southern Wayne by a score of 21-14. Given Fike's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Southern Wayne is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cameron Pittman looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and a touchdown. Bud Woodard and his 90 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Fike's win.
Fike is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Southern Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Fike will be playing at home against Hunt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Wayne, they will head out on the road to face off against C.B. Aycock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
