Basketball Recap: Elysian Fields' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Elysian Fields had lost five straight headed into Tuesday's match, but Brandon Kennedy didn't let it get to six. The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Joaquin Rams 85-25 thanks in part to Kennedy, who posted 42 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Elysian Fields' points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Stephens, who scored 18 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Elysian Fields' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 12-11. As for Joaquin, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Elysian Fields wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-53 loss against Waskom on the 17th. As for Joaquin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 91-31 defeat against Tenaha on the 17th.
