Independence had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings on Friday. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will take on Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they will head out to square off against Charles City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
