Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hammond). They managed a 42-38 win over the Cardinal Newman Cardinals on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Skyhawks as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Hammond's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Cardinal Newman, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Hammond will welcome Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cardinal Newman, they will take on Ben Lippen at 2:15 p.m. on Monday.
