Eastlake is 8-2 against Issaquah since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Eastlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Eastlake turned things around against Eastside Catholic on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Crusaders. Considering the Wolves have won three matchups by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Eastlake got a massive performance out of Macie Parthemer, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Parthemer has posted since back in April of 2024. Hannah Arnold was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
Eastlake hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside Catholic struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Issaquah faced Redmond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Shaina Starnicky (2028) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Abby Cleveland (2026), who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Having lost for the first time this season, Issaquah fell to 6-1. As for Eastlake, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eastlake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Issaquah struggles in that department as they've averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastlake came up short against Issaquah when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
