Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoover). Everything went their way against the Midland Trail Patriots on Saturday as Hoover made off with a 12-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.
Jayley Carper was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Liz Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Carper wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hoover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midland Trail only managed eight hits.
Hoover's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Midland Trail, they moved to 3-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Coming up, Hoover will head out to challenge Nitro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midland Trail, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilmer County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Midland Trail will need to watch out since Gilmer County has now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
