The matchup between the Nuniwarmiut Herders and the Ayaprun Jaegers on Friday hardly resembled the 45-0 effort from their previous meeting. Nuniwarmiut secured a 59-55 W over Ayaprun. The win was just what Nuniwarmiut needed coming off of a 61-38 loss in their prior contest.
Nuniwarmiut was led to victory by Mason Hendrickson and Ethan Williams. Hendrickson scored 17 points, while Williams scored 29 points.
The victory got Nuniwarmiut back to even at 1-1. As for Ayaprun, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nuniwarmiut won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Nelson Island at 9:00 a.m. on January 27th. Nelson Island is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Ayaprun, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chief Paul Memorial at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Chief Paul Memorial will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
