Saint Mary's Hall is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and The Christian School at Castle Hills Eagles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Saint Mary's Hall's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Saint Mary's Hall easily dispatched Giddings Lonestar Southeast on October 3rd, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Barons fell just short of Rochelle by a score of 62-60 last Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on October 3rd (57), the Barons still had to take the loss.

Ernest Williams
| 10/10/25 @ Rochelle | 214 |
| 10/03/25 vs Giddings Lonestar Southeast | 174 |
| 09/26/25 @ Leakey | 116 |
| 09/19/25 @ San Marcos Academy | 179 |
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ernest Williams, who picked up 214 receiving yards and five scores. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 116 receiving yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Bear Mayberry, who threw for 359 yards and seven touchdowns.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Christian School at Castle Hills). They claimed a resounding 94-62 win over Lutheran. Considering the Eagles have won three contests by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Saint Mary's Hall better keep an eye on Roman Stemmerding. He was instrumental in The Christian School at Castle Hills' win, rushing for 318 yards and six TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. Those 318 rushing yards gave Stemmerding a new career-high. Ralston Burns was in the mix too, providing The Christian School at Castle Hills with two scores.
The Christian School at Castle Hills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 417 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
The Christian School at Castle Hills' defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Eli Rivas with two sacks.
The Christian School at Castle Hills now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Saint Mary's Hall, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Saint Mary's Hall against The Christian School at Castle Hills in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 93-66 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Barons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
