Goodrich came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Adams Highlanders by a score of 7-2. For the Martians, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 win the Highlanders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Jayden Gohs made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since May 3rd.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophie Swanson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayannah Jackson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Goodrich's victory bumped their record up to 24-8. As for Adams, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
