Baseball Recap: Lowry Comes Up Short

After soaring to 18 runs the game before, Lowry was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to the Elko Indians. The Buckaroos have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

ReiCyan Grau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lowry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angus Boyles, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Boyles hit this season.

Lowry now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Elko, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

While Lowry had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
