On Thursday, Midlothian Heritage made easy work of Nacogdoches and carried off a 64-41 victory. Given Midlothian Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Nacogdoches is ranked 520th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midlothian Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Batty, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Grace Sweeney, who scored 14 points.
Midlothian Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Nacogdoches, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Midlothian Heritage won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Greenhill at 12:30 p.m. on December 29th. One thing working in Greenhill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. Nacogdoches will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Huntsville at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
