Softball Recap: Archbishop Wood Wins Going Away Against Gwynedd Mercy Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Walsh Jesuit, Archbishop Wood was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Monarchs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Allison Siegfried was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Lilliana Walters was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Archbishop Wood back to even at 1-1. As for Gwynedd Mercy Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Archbishop Wood and Gwynedd Mercy Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Archbishop Wood is set to take on their familiar foe Nazareth Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gwynedd Mercy Academy will face off against rival Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
