The Stockton Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Sarcoxie Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stockton knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Sarcoxie likes a good challenge.
If Stockton beats Sarcoxie with 17 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Tigers put the hurt on Osceola with a sharp 17-3 win on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Raelyn Henderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Henderson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and two runs. She has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makinsie Griffis, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Yokely, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one triple.
Stockton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sarcoxie hadn't done well against Strafford recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Indians 9-7.
Stockton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Sarcoxie, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Everything went Stockton's way against Sarcoxie in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Stockton made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
