The Windham Whippets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Killingly Redmen at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Windham's favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Redmen have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Windham stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 55-26 victory over Plainfield. Given Windham's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Panthers are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aniya Jenkins was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Jaelize Rivera was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Killingly came up short against the Bobcats on Saturday and fell 48-35.
Windham's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Killingly, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.
