Baseball Recap: Mize Has No Trouble Against Richton

Mize hadn't beaten Richton on the road since March 29, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 11-5 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Trey Myers and Cale Tudor made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Myers struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Tudor tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Myers scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Tudor scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Tudor has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Garrison Carrell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Walker Sullivan, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

Mize always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .524 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Mize's record is now 15-5. As for Richton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Mize will have a chance to go back-to-back against Richton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
