Shadow Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Chaparral Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shadow Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 222 points over their last three contests.
Even though Del Sol scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Shadow Ridge still came out on top. Shadow Ridge took their game against Del Sol 72-61.
Meanwhile, Chaparral struggled with assists on Wednesday (Cimarron-Memorial had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Chaparral took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cimarron-Memorial. Chaparral has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Qualib Ghallab, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Ghallab is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rayshawn Armstead, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Shadow Ridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Chaparral, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Shadow Ridge took their win against Chaparral in their previous matchup on January 2nd by a conclusive 68-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Ghallab, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds.
