Volleyball Recap: Eastern Greene's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Eastern Greene can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Owen Valley Patriots 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunderbirds also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Eastern Greene wouldn't go down easily and took Owen Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-15, 15-11.

Eastern Greene was led to victory by Makaia McGruder and Leila Quimby. McGruder had 13 digs and three aces, while Quimby had 20 digs. Quimby is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Eastern Greene's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Owen Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Eastern Greene has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Linton-Stockton on the 18th. Owen Valley has also already played their next contest (against Bloomfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
