Basketball Recap: Bulloch Academy Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Bulloch Academy Gators ended up a good deal behind the Stratford Academy Eagles and lost 75-57.

Defeat or not, Bulloch Academy got some senior leadership from Shamar Jenkins and Jackson Sheppard. Jenkins went 7 of 14 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds, while Sheppard went 7 for 16 on his way to 16 points and four steals. The matchup was Jenkins' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Polk, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Frankie Raines Jr was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 20 on his way to 27 points in addition to seven boards and six assists for Stratford Academy. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Raines Jr has scored at least a third of Stratford Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Stephens, who had 12 points and five rebounds.

Bulloch Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Stratford Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Bulloch Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-49 victory against Trinity Christian on the 13th. As for Stratford Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Southland Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
