Columbine gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Heritage Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rebels have posted against the Eagles since September 14, 2018.
While Columbine won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.
Sofia Screaton paced Columbine's offense, picking up 15 kills. Screaton got some help from Maddie Lynett and her 28 assists. Lynett and Screaton didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.
Columbine will be playing at home against Regis Jesuit at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will be taking part in a tournament against Eagle Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
