Triton Central was led to victory by Brooklyn Bailey and Maryrose Felling. Bailey dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Felling scored 29 points along with 7 rebounds. The matchup was Bailey's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Quinn King, who scored 8 points along with 10 assists and 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Waldron saw an underclassman step up: Grace Fischer scored 16 points. Fischer scored a full 43.2% of Waldron's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alyssa Benson was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 assists.
Triton Central's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Waldron, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Triton Central will head out on the road to face off against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Triton Central is ranked 84th). As for Waldron, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jac-Cen-Del at 7:30 p.m.
