After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Anthony, Harvard-Westlake was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the La Salle Lancers by a score of 38-26. Considering the Wolverines' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Harvard-Westlake found their leader in sophomore Ellis Robinson, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown.
Robinson was just one part of a punishing run game: Harvard-Westlake was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Salle only rushed for 37.
La Salle lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drew Ward, who picked up 212 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Ward's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. La Salle also got help from Alexandros Darlas, who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
With the win, Harvard-Westlake broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for La Salle, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
