After flying high against the Frisco Raccoons last Friday, the McKinney Lions came back down to earth. McKinney took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Little Elm on Tuesday. McKinney has not had much luck with Little Elm recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Little Elm to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raniyah Hunt, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 1 assists. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for Hunt. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Martin, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
McKinney bumped their record down to 9-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Little Elm, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKinney will challenge Braswell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Little Elm, they will head out on the road to face off against Guyer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Guyer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Little Elm is ranked 26th).
