The Longwood Panthers were the 50-44 winner over the Richards Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Longwood was outmatched by Richards on the road and fell 85-52. Longwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for David Thomas, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 5 assists for Richards. The match was Thomas' 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashaud Lyons, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Longwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Richards, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Longwood will head out on the road to face off against Hancock at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richards, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hubbard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
