Softball Recap: Green Hope's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Green Hope's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Wake Prep Academy Guardians. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.

Rachael Baldyga made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Baldyga was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Sophia Cerneka was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Claire Phelps was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Green Hope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wake Prep Academy only posted a batting average of .278.

Green Hope moved to 8-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Wake Prep Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8.

Green Hope wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-7 loss against Panther Creek on the 24th. As for Wake Prep Academy, they have also already played their next game, an 11-8 defeat against Bunn on the 24th.
