Aurora Central had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-10 to make it six. They came up short against the Overland Blazers, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 on Thursday.

Aurora Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Toby Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Sanchez is becoming a predictor of the Trojans' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't). Kirby Colbert-Olson was another, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
As for Overland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9. The result was nothing new for the Blazers, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.
On Overland's side, Kevin Uribe and Jerome Mestas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Uribe pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Mestas pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Uribe got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Mestas got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Overland got a massive performance out of Brayan Ascencio, who went 3-for-4 with seven RBI and two triples. Those seven RBI gave Ascencio a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Villanueva, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Aurora Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-0 loss against Alameda on the 27th. As for Overland, they have also already played their next matchup, a 5-4 defeat against Gateway on the 28th.
