The McAlester Buffaloes will head out on the road to challenge the Will Rogers College Ropers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McAlester has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4.
McAlester pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-58 to Memorial. While losing is never fun, McAlester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Chargers are ranked 75th).
Meanwhile, Will Rogers College was able to grind out a solid win over the Lions on Saturday, taking the game 61-53.
Will Rogers College's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dkarrion Titsworth led the charge by scoring 15 points along with three steals. Titsworth has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Branden Crosslen, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
McAlester dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Will Rogers College, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
McAlester came up short against the Ropers in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-55. Can McAlester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
