They came out on top against Cesar Chavez by a score of 66-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jada Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Emma Dasovich was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Cesar Chavez's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Victoria Ballard, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Lakeisha Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Valley Vista pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44 points. As for Cesar Chavez, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4.
