The Piedmont Classical Bobcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-40 victory over College Prep & Leadership Academy on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Piedmont Classical has posted since December 1, 2023.
Ge'Kayla Goins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tamia Carter, who scored 17 points.
College Prep & Leadership Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Melody Johnson, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Massenat, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Even though they lost, College Prep & Leadership Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their eighth loss (out of eight games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
The victory makes it two in a row for Piedmont Classical and bumps their season record up to 5-7. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Piedmont Classical will head out on the road to challenge Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, they will be playing at home against Bethany at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
