The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs will face off against the Midview Middies at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Olmsted Falls' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Berea-Midpark with a sharp 10-0 victory. The contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season.
Berea-Midpark's batters probably weren't too happy with Joey Goetz, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). Goetz also allowed no hits, which is notable because Olmsted Falls is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 3-8-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Olmsted Falls let Jack Perkins and Sam Kolasky run wild. Perkins went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Kolasky went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Perkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Henderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Midview ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Elyria, sneaking past 3-2. The Middies haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Midview also got a great performance from Cody Martin as he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Martin has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kaiden Vogelpohl was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Harper, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Midview's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Olmsted Falls, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9-1.
Olmsted Falls couldn't quite finish off Midview in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
