Softball Recap: Willamette Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sheldon, Willamette was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the South Eugene Axe with a sharp 17-1 win. Considering the Wolverines have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Macy Rush was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Sophie Robins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Willamette's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for South Eugene, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Willamette will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Axe: the pair will be back at it again later today.
