The McCook Bison's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lexington Minutemen at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Tuesday.
McCook suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Friday. They were beaten by Gothenburg 63-15. McCook has not had much luck with Gothenburg recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Lexington, who are still winless after their tenth game. They had to suffer through a rough 46-14 loss at the hands of Kearney Catholic. While losing is never fun, Lexington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Kearney Catholic is ranked 67th).
McCook's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lexington, they bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for McCook against Lexington in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 45-10 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for McCook since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
