Basketball Recap: East St. Louis Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

East St. Louis won the last time they faced Cardinal Ritter College Prep, and Montreal Stacker did his part to make sure it happened again. The East St. Louis Flyers secured a 62-56 W over the Cardinal Ritter College Prep Lions on Wednesday thanks in part to Stacker, who went 6 for 13 en route to 23 points and six boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

J. Ayers was another key player, putting up four points in addition to seven rebounds and seven blocks. He has become a key player for East St. Louis: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least five blocks, but 8-12 otherwise.

East St. Louis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

East St. Louis will challenge Collinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Collinsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
