Two dominant backs in Connor Malin and Zachary Quieroz are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Law Lawmen and the Foran Lions will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Law will head into Friday's contest ready to turn things around: they couldn't quite beat Shelton last Friday, but the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 28-point loss they were dealt on November 8th. Meanwhile, Foran waltzed into their match last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Hornets as they made off with a 32-7 win. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 26.6 points per game.
Quieroz was his usual excellent self, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Gavin Lefebvre, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Foran was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 262 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Foran now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Law, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.
Thursday's matchup might be decided in the on the ground. Law has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Foran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 205.9. It's looking like Thursday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
