Moffat County was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They were six  points away from ending the streak, but they lost a  42-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eagle Valley Devils. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in December of 2023.
 Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Caitlyn Adams, who  went 5 for 11  on her way to 14  points and four  steals.  Mena Tucker was another key player,  putting up five points in addition to seven  rebounds and five  assists.
 Eagle Valley's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Abby Talbot, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 15 points and nine  rebounds. Talbot is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Addison Mandeville, who  went 7 of 15  on her way to 14 points.
Moffat County now  has a losing record at 2-3. As for Eagle Valley,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-3.
 Moffat County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  56-16  loss against Palisade on the 20th. As for Eagle Valley, they will venture away from home to  square off against Grand Junction  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
