Basketball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Piles Up the Points Against Parker

Mohave Accelerated had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They breezed by the Parker Broncs to the tune of 53-20. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.

Mohave Accelerated's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haley Leslie, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and six boards. That's the most boards Leslie has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Banks, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points along with six boards and three steals.

Mohave Accelerated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Mohave Accelerated is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Parker, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohave Accelerated will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Glendale Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Parker will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Yuma Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
