Softball Recap: Trinity Hall Victorious

While Trinity Hall's victory against Rumson-Fair Haven wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Trinity Hall sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Rumson-Fair Haven on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Trinity Hall has posted since May 1, 2025.

Emma Mullins made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Helen Taylor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Leilani McGowan also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Trinity Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Trinity Hall back to even at 3-3. As for Rumson-Fair Haven, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Trinity Hall will be playing in front of their home fans against Lacey Township at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.63 runs per game on average), something Trinity Hall will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rumson-Fair Haven, they will head out to take on Toms River North at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
