The Houston Hilltoppers will square off against the Eupora Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Houston barely beat Caledonia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Houston blew past Caledonia 13-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Hilltoppers have posted against the Cavaliers since April 2, 2015.
Cayden Box made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Box was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Cam Kilgore was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adam Smith, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Houston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caledonia only posted an OBP of .296.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eupora, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Nanih Waiya get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The Eagles have beaten the Warriors the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.
Eupora pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Houston, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.
Houston took their win against Eupora when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4. Will Houston repeat their success, or does Eupora has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
