Devyn Grant's Big Game Leads Garner over Fuquay - Varina
Starting off the list is Garner's Devyn Grant, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Grant rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 54 receiving yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 154 rushing yards.
The victory was the third in a row for Garner, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Grant and Garner will face off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cleveland Gets a Boost from Byrd in 39-29 Victory
Jackson Byrd was instrumental in extending Cleveland's winning streak to eight on Friday. Byrd was unstoppable, rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 286 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Byrd might have his next game, a home matchup with Garner, circled on his calendar. When Byrd last faced the Trojans back in October of 2023, he threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in two rushing scores.

Damonte Garner Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Damonte Garner posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Southeast Raleigh over Cleveland on Friday. Garner picked up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Southeast Raleigh is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3. Garner will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Corinth Holders on Friday.

Another Game with at Least Eight Total Tackles from Sawyer Lowe
Sawyer Lowe continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 21st-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least eight total tackles. He turned in his biggest game of the season, picking up a sack and making 17 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
If history really does repeat itself, Lowe might just drop another big game when he faces off against Garner on Friday. When Lowe last faced the Trojans back in October of 2023, he forced a fumble and made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

On the year, Powell has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 201 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 59.88 passing yards per game.
