It's playoff time, and Springboro had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Wayne Warriors get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Springboro got a great performance from Katie Jonas as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Jonas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bella Miller was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Aysia Davis was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
Springboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in eight consecutive matches.
Springboro's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Wayne, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
As of now, neither Springboro nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
