Softball Recap: Field Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Field barely beat Tallmadge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Blue Devils 10-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Falcons have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Field has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tallmadge, they moved to 19-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Field and Tallmadge are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Falcons will face off against Perry at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Field's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Tallmadge, they will take on Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
