Harnett Central is 8-1 against Overhills since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out to square off against the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. Harnett Central knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Overhills likes a good challenge.
If Harnett Central beats Overhills with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Triton on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Bree Tenters was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Ava Faucette was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lauren Faulkner was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Harnett Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive matchups.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Overhills and Pine Forest, and Pine Forest kept the tradition alive. The Jaguars might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-2 to the Trojans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.
Overhills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaelyn Houston, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Harnett Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Overhills, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Harnett Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. However, it's not like Overhills struggles in that department as they've averaged .549. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Harnett Central's way against Overhills in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Harnett Central made off with a 21-2 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
