The Apollo Eagles are taking a road trip to  challenge the Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats  at 5:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. Apollo is coming into the  game on  a  three-game losing streak.

  Liza Page was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That  double marked the first that  she has  hit this season.  Arianna Ramirez was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
Evansville Mater Dei came out on top against Evansville Central  on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Wildcats walked away with  a   6-1  win over the Bears.
 Addi Boots spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Macy Lankford was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Chelsea Merkley, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Evansville Mater Dei  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 11  hits in five consecutive  matches.
 Evansville Mater Dei has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Apollo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
 Apollo couldn't quite finish off Evansville Mater Dei in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 and fell  7-5. Can the Eagles avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
