After a string of four wins dating back to last season, CHASE's's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Faith Baptist. While losing is never fun, CHASE can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Faith Baptist is ranked 46th).
Amy Ahrens had an outrageously good game for Faith Baptist as she dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. The game was Ahrens' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ellie Bowen, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
CHASE's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Faith Baptist, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. CHASE will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on FAITH HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. FAITH HomeSchool is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Faith Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against Bloomfield Christian School at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
