Basketball Recap: Sidney Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

While Sidney didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Polson Pirates on Saturday, sneaking past 51-48. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Polson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hinkley Moss, who posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Moss a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Aleysia Black, who had 11 points.

Sidney's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Polson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

After both having extra time off, Sidney and Hardin will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 2:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Hardin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Polson, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Polson is facing Hamilton at the right time seeing as Hamilton is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
