Ardsley and Edgemont are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. Ardsley will host Edgemont at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ardsley has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Albertus Magnus hit Ardsley with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers fell 11-6 to the Falcons. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Edgemont made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hendrick Hudson on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Sailors with a sharp 13-2 win. Considering the Panthers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Myles Kusinitz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Edgemont's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-11 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Henry Ratner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Skylen Vargas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Ardsley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Edgemont, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.
Ardsley might still be hurting after the 13-7 loss they got from Edgemont when the teams last played back in April. Will Ardsley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
