The Western Hills Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 79-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aiken. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (67), Western Hills still had to take the loss.
Aiken was led to victory by Jaiden Arnold and James Burnett. Arnold scored 30 points along with eight assists and four steals, while Burnett scored 37 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burnett has scored all season.
Western Hills' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6. As for Aiken, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Hills will take on Hughes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Aiken, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Taft at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aiken has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 765 points over their last 11 contests.
