Despite the loss, Viera still got an impressive performance from Lauren Bell, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 46.8% of Viera's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Yasmin Croom, who scored six points along with five steals.
Viera has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.
Viera will stay at home for another game and welcome Martin County at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Martin County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Viera in Florida (Martin County is ranked 102nd, while Viera is ranked 257th). As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Windermere Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
