The Roane County Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Buffalo Bison at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Roane County proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Clay County 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since April 26, 2024.

C KINDER made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Roane County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, J GREATHOUSE was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was W BRABHAM, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Buffalo ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over Chapmanville Regional.
Like Roane County, Buffalo also got a great game from a two-way player: Evan Panaro. On the mound, Panaro pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Luca Signorini struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Panaro went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Signorini went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that Signorini has launched this season.
In other batting news, Buffalo got a massive performance out of Caiden Craig, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Craig a new career-high. Hunter Rutan was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Buffalo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Roane County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Buffalo, their record now sits at 10-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Roane County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Buffalo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
