The Westside Seminoles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Perry out 42-40. The win was just what Westside needed coming off of a 69-19 loss in their prior match.
Westside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Frazier led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Frazier is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games she's played. Taylor Talton was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Westside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-15. As for Perry, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
Westside will head out on the road to challenge West Laurens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Westside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday. As for Perry, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dooly County at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Perry is on a nine-game streak of home losses, Dooly County a ten-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
