Freeway recap Nov. 7, 2012
Buena Park moved up to 399 from 458 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freeway. The Coyotes climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Fullerton 40-17.
La Habra extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sonora, 51-19. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Highlanders.
Troy's dynamic duo of Kyle Blumer and Dominic Vaccher proved tough for Sunny Hills to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Blumer threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns and Vaccher had 134 yards receiving. Dallas Parent helped Troy's passing attack out by catching three balls for 54 yards.
Deven Boston was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 31 carries, he ran for 328 yards as Buena Park bested the Lancers. Hakeem Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
6-foot-2 quarterback Scott Lloyd of the Indians is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1489. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Anthony White's team's Boston has rushed for 1928 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nate Miranda. The Sonora star has 28 catches for 640 yards.
Troy took down Sunny Hills 41-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Blumer in the win.
